Pleasure Island
This 6-acre nighttime entertainment complex really is a must-see when visiting Orlando. It has something
for everyone, whatever the particular taste may be. A one-off admission fee entitles you to a whole host of
activities which include an incredible 8 nightclubs, fantastic shopping facilities, a large variety of
restaurants and cafes, movie theatres and dancing in the streets. Although many of the shops are open
during the day when admission is free, the main action really begins at 7pm. The electric atmosphere builds
up to a midnight New Year's Eve Street Party, which is loaded with fireworks and confetti. Don't worry
about missing out, because this takes place every single night of the year, and continues for several hours.
The club scene varies from the Comedy Warehouse, which servers up some hilarious acts, to the Rock 'n'
Roll Beach Club, which boasts live bands and DJs, providing music from the 1960's onwards. If this is too
heavy, you can chill out at the Pleasure Island Jazz Company, or get your cowboy hat on for the Wildhorse
Saloon, a very highly rated country music and line-dancing venue. For some hip-hop and R&B, venture into
Mannequins Dance Palace or the BET Soundstage Club. Although admission is quite expensive, you won't
be disappointed with the fantastic range of entertainment on tap.
